| Evelyn S. Dye, 90, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Monday, May 14, 2007, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
She was born January 2, 1917, at Philippi, Barbour County, a daughter of the late Carson and Ellen Bennett Stemple. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Stemple; and one granddaughter, Beth Cassady.
Mrs. Dye was a retired Spencer Grade School teacher and a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Spencer.
Survivors include her husband, John Dye, whom she married February 14, 1937; one daughter, Marty Cassady of Dallas, TX; one son, Carson Dye of Toledo, OH; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Spencer, with the Rev. Michael F. "Mike" King officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer and at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
