FORMER POLICE CHIEF SCHEDULED FOR HEARING

(05/23/2007)
After about 17-months of investigation with an indictment this month by a Calhoun Grand Jury, former Grantsville police chief Ron Gordon, 57, will appear in court for a hearing today.

Gordon has been on home confinement since last summer.

He is facing charges that he sexually assaulted at least six females, according to the State Police.

Police say he used his position to try and silence some of the victims.

Gordon has been indicted on four counts of first-degree sexual abuse, four counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of nighttime burglary.

Most of the assaults allegedly occurred between 1988-2005.

During that period Gordon was a home confinement officer for Calhoun and later a police chief for the Town of Grantsville (2003-2006).

Gordon had originally been charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault.
