Let there be light on Wayne Underwood Field.
At least seven dusk 'til dawn lights have been installed around the field, illuminating the walking track and areas next to the ball field, according to Wood Festival president Judy Powell.
The project got off the ground with a small grant from the Calhoun
County Commission.
Rick Alderman has donated time to install the
lights with the help of Kevin Church and Rusty Dawson, said Powell.
The field, which is being managed by the Calhoun Wood Festival committee, is appreciative for the time and effort given to this and other projects.
Some new projects for the field are in the planning stage.
"The field is to be used for multiple community purposes," said Powell.
Arrangements for use require the signing of a user agreement, a small payment or in-kind labor or other donations to help keep the field going.
