| George P. Dietz, 79, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Monday, April 23, 2007, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after an extended illness.
George was born in Kassel, Germany, on February 27, 1928. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 and became a U.S. citizen in 1962. In 1971, he relocated from New Jersey to Liverpool, Roane County and then to Spencer in 1998. George worked as a real estate broker until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Elsbeth "Betty" Dietz; son, Rainer "Ray" Dietz of Spencer; daughter, Barbara Dietz Smith of Spencer; granddaughter, Kendra Beth Smith also of Spencer.
A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.
Memorial contributions are preferred to the Roane County High School Marching Band, 1 Raider Way, Spencer, WV 25276.
