Ellen Paulette (Polly) Shingleton, 55, of Moatsville, Rt. 1, West Virginia, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born April 6, 1952 at Big Springs, Calhoun County, a daughter of Forest Tingler of Big Springs and the late Blanche Cunningham Tingler.
On August 20, 1976, she was married to Dowden Edward (Eddie) Shingleton, Jr., who survives at Moatsville Rt. 1.
Also surviving are one daughter, Misty Dawn Bolten and husband Heath of Moatsville; one son, Brian Edward Shingleton of Fairview; two sisters, her twin, Helen Jeanete Gard and husband Charles of McBee, SC, and Genieva Mae Glover and husband Kenneth of Middlebourne; two brothers, Ed Tingler and wife Barbara, and Eli Tingler and wife Hazel, all of Big Springs.
In addition to her mother she was also preceded in death by one nephew, Wesley Todd Glover.
Mrs. Shingleton was a homemaker and employed as a payroll clerk for the Criminal Justice Information Center at Clarksburg. She was a member and served as treasurer of the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church. She was secretary-treasurer of the Mt. Morris Cemetery Association.
Funeral services was held at Stemple and Foreman Funeral Home in Philippi on Friday, April 27. Rev. James Johnson officiated. Interment was in the Mt. Morris Cemetery. |
