Steve Simpson, 47, was arrested yesterday and charged with murder and dueling.
Authorities said that's a charge that's been on the books for a long time and it carries the same life sentence as first-degree murder.

BASKETBALL STAR MURDER - A South Charleston woman has been charged with felony murder in connection with the shooting death of her boyfriend, former Capital High School basketball star Lawrence Booker.
Stephanie Holsinger, 23, told police she and the 23-year-old Booker went to an apartment in St. Albans to rob a man.
Police have said that Holsinger went to the apartment of Justin Johnson, pretended to have car trouble and asked for jumper cables.
When Johnson and Holsinger went to the parking lot, the complaint says, Booker grabbed Johnson from behind and threatened him with a gun.
Johnson had a pistol and, after a struggle, shot Booker twice.
Police said Holsinger was charged with felony murder because of her alleged involvement in the failed robbery, which led to Booker's death.
She also faces a first-degree armed robbery charge.

The robber then had the pharmacist drive him in the pharmacist's car north to Oak Hill, where he was dropped off.
