Howard V. ''Mac'' McCoy, 99, of Belpre passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Arcadia Nursing Home in Coolville.
He was born in Calhoun County, W.Va., on Nov. 2, 1907, a son of the late John Ira and Virginia Riggs McCoy.
Mac retired from the Parkersburg Rigg & Steel after 37 years of service. He was also a dairy farmer for several years. He was a member of the Porterfield Baptist Church, the Porterfield Community Club and the Belpre Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Murrel Smith Bush McCoy; three daughters, Bernita Werner of Belpre, Carolyn Ratliff (Carl) of Little Hocking and Alice Shanks (Dick) of Coolville; one son, Ronald McCoy (Diane) of Belpre; two stepdaughters, Nancy Mullins (Gene) of Ravenswood and Sondra Carr (Wayne) of Stuart, Fla.; a stepson, Thomas Bush of Austintown, Ohio; one brother, Glen McCoy of Belpre; one sister, Bessie Anderson of Arizona; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 21 step great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Eileen Yoak of Parkersburg and Wano McCoy of Watertown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Geraldine G. Stevens McCoy; one son, Steve McCoy; one step grandson, Michael Miller; four brothers, Ernest, Eddie, Hollie and George McCoy; and two sisters, Thelma Roach and Myrtle Weaver.
Funeral services for Mr. McCoy will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the new Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, with Pastor Phillip Newhart officiating. Burial will follow in Coolville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
