Pauline Irene Keener Hardway, 87, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, April 20, 2007, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
She was born November 9, 1919, in Clay County, a daughter of the late Daniel Elsworth "Dan" and Retta Ethel Sharp Keener. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Hardway; two brothers, John and Harry Keener; four sisters, Eunice Kniesly, Hettie Rose, and infants, Avis and Minnie Keener.
Pauline was a homemaker. Also, she had cooked in local restaurants, formerly worked at both Roane General Hospital and Gordon's Nursing Home, and was a caregiver to both children and the elderly. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include three daughters, Delores Gray of Chelsea, MI, Loretta Duncan of Spencer and Karen Murphy of LaPlata, MD; two sons, James and Fred Hardway both of Spencer; one sister, Louise Buzzard of East Liverpool, OH; two brothers, Ezra and Junior Keener both of East Liverpool, OH; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Zona.
Friends may call Sunday, April 22 after 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. |
