There have been some problems with the PROMISE scholarship.
The program has re-notified 450 high school seniors telling them they have earned a scholarship, after they initially received a rejection letter.
The rejection letters indicated the program did not receive student's ACT or SAT scores.
The problem surfaced because some students did not use their Social Security number on the application. It is not required, but the program says it complicated the process.
PROMISE has taken the last two weeks to use other identification means to obtain the test scores and award the scholarships.
About 3,200 West Virginia high school seniors have been notified that they've earned a PROMISE scholarship.
