The Calhoun Middle School Athletic Boosters will host the Annual CMS All-Sports Banquet on Friday May 4th.
Master of Ceremonies and Guest Speaker for the banquet will be J. D. (David) Hathaway, a 1959 graduate of Calhoun County High School.
David was the State Runner-Up in Football scoring in his junior and senior years. In 1957-58 he scored 107 points to 108 of Gene Smith from Tyler County.
In 1958-59 he scored 164 points to 165 of Jim Procopio of St. Marys. Both years, he lost the state scoring title by only 1 point.
In 1959 he was selected as a first team All-State Running Back. David held the all-time scoring record at Calhoun County High School until 1984 when Tracy Haught established a new record.
Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. in the CMHS Commons Area followed by the Awards Ceremony in the auditorium at 6:45 p.m.
Middle school athletes will be recognized for their performances
and representation of the middle school.
The boosters will provide ham, mashed potatoes, gravy and hot rolls.
Sixth grade families are asked to bring vegetable side dishes. Seventh grade families are asked to bring salads, cold or tossed. Eighth grade families are asked to bring desserts.
All families are also asked to provide a 2 liter bottle of soda of their choice.
All Middle School athletes, families, coaches and fans are invited.
