Tracy K. Richards, 82, of Marietta passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at his residence.
He was born July 31, 1924, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a son of the late General George Washington and Elsie May McCune Richards.
Tracy was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of the V.F.W. in Marietta and a member of the Warren Presbyterian Church. He retired from Trout Sand and Gravel, where he was a manager, having worked there for nearly 60 years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Metz Richards; one daughter, Joyce Hollingsworth and her fiancé, Mike Clegg, of Marietta; three sons, Don Richards (Marilyn) of Belpre, Dale Richards (Carrie) of Belpre and Dewayne Richards (Marylin) of Marietta; 25 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Lee Hollingsworth; one grandson, Jim Richards; twin granddaughters, Noel and Virginia Richards; five sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the new Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, with Pastor Robert McKelvey officiating.
Burial will follow in Gravel Bank Cemetery near Marietta with full military honors by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
