Wilbert Kerby, 84, of Mt. Zion, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2007, at his residence.
He was born December 11, 1922, at Joker in Calhoun County, a son of the late R.E. and Mary Adams Kerby.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, L. Fae Kerby; one son, Wilbert Dale (Dorothy) Kerby of Grantsville, W.Va.; three daughters, Jeanie (Richard) Thomas of Barberton, Ohio, Mary (Joe) Webb of Grantsville and Ruth Kerby of Mt. Zion; one brother, Cleo Kirby of Parkersburg; one sister, Eula Nelson of Vienna; six grandchildren, Tonya Williams, LaShon Kerby, Robert and Michele Thomas, Rodney Webb and Teresa Webb Toney; and five great-grandchildren, Cody Webb, Erica, Joshua, Dana and Matthew Toney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Victor, Delbert, Forest and Boyd Kerby.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home of Elizabeth, W.Va., with the Rev. Robert Shannon officiating. Burial will be in the Bryner Chapel Cemetery at Joker of Calhoun County. Friends
may call from 6-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
