Rev. John F. Glessner of Buckhannon, West Virginia went to join the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2007.
He was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1941. He was a loving husband, father, and "happy pappy," and will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind his loving wife Janet Glessner; daughters Jackie and Randy Pakos of Niles, Ohio, Tina Glessner and fiancée Levi Elza of Clarksburg, and Karla Glessner of Buckhannon; sons, John F, Glessner, Jr. of San Francisco, California, Daniel and Amy Glessner of Monroe Falls, Ohio, David and Valerie Glessner of Mildenhall AFB, England; his loving grandchildren Sean and Nicole Pakos, Alex, Hayley and Ashleigh Glessner; brother, Ken Glessner; sisters, Glenda Landis, Polly Bell and Janie Watkins.
After many years of farming and sales, Reverend Glessner graduated from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. He enjoyed 18 years of service in the ministry of the United Methodist Church before retiring in 2006.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold and mother, Estella and sister Marjorie Combs.
He will always be remembered for the many smiles he put on our faces throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Stanley Ash will officiate. Interment will be in the Orma United Methodist Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to People's Hospice of Clarksburg or the American Cancer Society.
