The Calhoun Commission, following several budget sessions, approved the county's 2007-08 budget Monday.
Commissioner Kevin Helmick voted nay on the budget, saying "The employee increase (10%) was a little too much."
Helmick said he would like to set aside money in a rainy day fund in case difficult times surfaced like two years ago.
This year's budget total's about $1.7 million, but several hundred thousand dollars are "pass-throughs" from grants and special appropriations, not from county tax funds.
