MAN PLEADS IN MURDER -
A Charleston man accused in the July 2005 shooting death of a night janitor at a recycling center has pled guilty to first-degree murder.
A life-with-mercy sentence was recommended, meaning 28-year-old Jason Williams would be eligible for parole consideration after 15 years.
Charges of breaking and entering were dismissed.
A condition of the deal is that Williams testify against his co-defendant and brother-in-law, 25-year-old William McCallister Junior.
Investigators say McCallister is the one who actually shot 45-year-old Harvey Pomeroy. Police say Pomeroy died after confronting the suspects during a break-in attempt at the Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority's recycling center. |
