A Mercer County man has been charged in connection with his son's shooting death.
He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the boys accidental shooting.
The Mercer County Sheriff's Department says 32-year-old Joe Gore the First also faces a charge of wanton endangerment.
Detective Lieutenant Mike Gills said yesterday that eleven-year-old son Joe Gore the Second was shot when his father allegedly used a nine millimeter handgun to blast a hole through the floor of the family's mobile home to install a television cable Thursday evening.
His son was underneath the trailer helping run the cable and was shot in the head.
Gills says the younger Gore died at Bluefield Regional Medical Center later that evening.
Two other young children who were at the home have been turned over to their mother.
The elder Gore has been released on $15,00 bond.
