Calhoun High School Freshman, Cody Clark (38-4) won the West Virginia State wrestling tournament by beating senior Shawn Sexton of Independence. Cody's only four losses of the season had come from Sexton. Cody proved to be a real fighter and didn't give up.
Clark took a 6-5 lead in the first period, and kept his momentum, winning with a takedown in the last 23 seconds of overtime, 13-11.

During an interview Clark said, "I was real nervous out there," "It was crazy, crazy. It is wonderful just to be able to beat the person who has beat me all year long."
Clark was also chosen as the Class AA/A Most Outstanding Wrestler.
Other Calhoun wrestlers placing in the event are, Nick Stevens-103, 6th place; Seth Jarvis-112 6th place; and Derek Roberts-140 6th place.
