| Equitable Resources is proposing to expand service in north-central West Virginia by purchasing Dominion Hope.
Equitable is reportedly in the process of buying Dominion Hope from Richmond, Virginia-based Dominion.
Equitable spokeswoman Pat Kornick says the company will keep Dominion Hope's Clarksburg operations open and could add another office in Clarksburg or in Marion County.
Both outfits say they will win approval for the sale.
The Public Service Commission has scheduled public hearings on the sale in May.
