| Garnet P. Hess, 81, of Sistersville, died Aug. 21, 2001, at Wetzel County Hospital.
She was born in Calhoun County, daughter of the late Holly Roscoe and Ottis Susan Saltkeld Greathouse. She was a member of the Seventh Street United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She worked for American Viscose; Dils Department Store; Peace Goods Store; and also sold for Avon.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Miller of Parkersburg; four brothers, Holly R. Jr., Eugene C., Carl H., and Gary H. Greathouse; two sisters, Bessie Arthur Belcher and Gwendolyn Gibson; and two granddaughters, Catherine Ann Jean Weaver-Knowack and Debbie Sue Pauline Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard F. Hess; and two brothers, Garland C. 'Bud' and Larry W. Greathouse.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg, with the Revs. Robert May and Norman Butler officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery North. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
