Reed's Store in downtown Five Forks

Reed's Store is still in operation at Five Forks, with current operator Euna Reed operating the emporium. One of the original owners in the earlier part of the 20th century was George Richards, followed by his son Carl Richards.

At one time the store was called the "E & E" owned by Everett and Ethel Martin Wilt, brother and sister.

Herb Bryner also operated the store, and later his daughter Liz, followed by Yoak's General Store, owned by James and Carolyn Yoak.

Ron and Neva Patterson owned the store for a while, followed by Metz's General Store, Euna and Leonard Metz. The current owner is Euna Reed - Reed's General Store in downtown Five Forks.

Five Forks once had its own newspaper in the 1970's "The Five Forks Free Press," published by Jim Sullivan and friends.

The Five Forks General Store, located just north of Reed's Store at the junction of the Nobe and Broomstick road, and most recently operated by Jim Sullivan and his wife Colleen, was originally operated by Dennis Wease and a Shaffer. Also Chuck Frederick, Haven Kelley, Henry and Edna Kight, Pat and Darlene Bell, Paul Wilson, Larry and Lois Dye and Angie Dye.
