FIRE DESTROYS LOST RIDGE STRUCTURE - Busy Emergency Service Day

It was a busy emergency services day.

Fire completely destroyed a dwelling on Lost Ridge last night. The structure was on the ground when the Grantsville VFD arrived after the 9:20 p.m. call.

Residents indicated the structure belonged to Joe Griffith.

Lost Ridge is in a remote area off Back Fork Road near the Ritchie County line.

Upper West Fork firemen and Calhoun EMS were summoned to the Mouth of Cadle Run at Rt. 16, Stinson at 9:20 a.m., where a car had run over the hill. No occupant was found.

Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded to Big Bend at 2:30 p.m. where an SUV and a truck was involved in a collision in front of Holbert's Store. Two were taken to MHHCC for treatment of what was described as minor injuries.

An ambulance was dispatched at 5:12 p.m. to Mud Fork Road near Stinson where "a man was passed out on the road." The ambulance returned to station after it was discovered the individual did not need medical treatment.

Emergency services were dispatched to Pleasant Hill at 8:10 p.m. when a vehicle ran off the road, described as an accident with no injury.

The Calhoun Sheriff's Department and the State Police responded to a disturbance on School Street in Grantsville Saturday night, with at least two arrests made following the incident.
