Calhoun High School students Briana Blankenship and Cory Roberts attended a trumpet-brass music clinic at the Smoot Theatre in Parkersburg, accompanied by music instructor Faye Chambers.
Gregory Wing, professor of trumpet at Morehead State University, conducted the seminar.
Wing holds a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from the School of Music at Indiana University, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Morehead State University.
Professor Wing is recognized as one of the nations leading trumpet artists having served as lead trumpet with the Buddy Rich Big Band, Paul Anka, and played four years with Tom Jones.
In addition, he has played Lead Trumpet for the Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas Hilton, Flamingo Hilton, and Stardust Hotel's house orchestra.
Wing (left) has played for virtually every major entertainer in the world including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, and Natalie Cole.
Following the seminar, Wing performed with the Smoot Theatre house band.
