Well-known Calhoun attorney F. John Oshoway received serious injuries Tuesday evening when his Ford Ranger truck went out of control on State Rt. 5 at Burning Springs, Wirt County.
Oshoway was life-flighted to a Columbus, Ohio medical center for treatment of trauma, mostly to his arm, which family members said was badly damaged.
The Grantsville attorney was returning from Wood County Circuit Court. He reportedly told family members that a deer or other animal came into the highway from the lower side, Oshoway then swerved his truck, crashing against the road bank.
Wirt County emergency services responded to the scene.
Associate Rue Brannon said he received emergency treatment to his arm and was going into surgery Wednesday morning in an effort to save his arm and restore it to use.
"The arm is badly mangled, bone and muscle," said Brannon, "He will be facing a number of surgeries in the next few days."
