Arrissie C. Elliott Carpenter, 96, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006.
Born in Grantsville, West Virginia, she lived most of her life in the Mogadore, Ohio area. She was a member of the Wintergreen Ledges Church Of God for over 42 years and active in the Women's Missionary Society.
She was a very good seamstress making over 6 wedding gowns and all the bridesmaid dresses. She had a great love for making dolls and stuffed animals, not only for her church bazaars, but for the Clinton Free Will Baptist Church. Always helping the less-fortunate and needy, she had an unconditional love for her family, neighbors, and friends.
Her love for God reached many people's lives. She will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Alfred H. Carpenter; son, Sterling (Bud) Carpenter; and adopted daughter, Cathy Wells.
She is survived by sons, David (Harlene) Carpenter, Robert Carpenter; daughters, Arlena (Oral) Gibson, Eloise (John) Woodarski; daughter-in-law, Marylin Carpenter; son-in-law, David Wells; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
Funeral services were held at the Wintergreen Ledges Church Of God, Akron Ohio on April 8, 2006. Rev. Jim Rome officiated. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
