BLACK ICE CAUSES EARLY MORNING WRECKS

(01/23/2007)
Freezing rain has caused Calhoun roads to get slick this morning, already causing two accidents.

Freezing occurred quickly into "black ice."

A single-vehicle accident on Hog Nob Hill (Rt. 5) at 7:20 sent at least one person to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center for evaluation.

Calhoun EMS, the Grantsville VFD and the Calhoun Sheriff's Department responded.

Another accident caused by slippery conditions on Rt. 16 at Five Forks General Store at 8:15 did not result in any injuries.
