| Elsie Greta Marks, 85, of Pine Creek Road, Grantsville, West Virginia passed away Thursday, January 18, 2007 in Charleston General Hospital after a long illness.
She was born May 5, 1921 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late
Cleo and Phelma Hathaway Gainer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Reverend Blaine Marks, a son Gary Marks, one sister Delma Whytsell, and brother Jennings "Buck" Gainer.
Surviving are two daughters, Lola and Jack Clark and Karen and Roland Boatright, sisters, Wanza Marsh and Emma Wease, and brother Delbert "Bo" Gainer, all of Grantsville; grandchildren, Crystal Knotts, Chad Ferguson, Shaun Ferguson, Jerry Marks and Daniel Boatright, and two great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where in the past she has been a Sunday School teacher and active with the youth and WSCS.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 21, at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Officiants will be Reverends Rick Swearingen, Mike Worf, and Donzel Wease. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. |
