The fifth Saturday Fun and Learning Day sponsored by Heads Up, GEAR UP and the Parent-Educator Resource Center was held Saturday, January 13th at Calhoun Middle-High School.
Breakfast was served to all participants and then the children enjoyed Dance, Dance Revolution dance mats or played games while the parents attended Boundaries Training conducted by the Parent-Educator Resource Center and Internet Safety presented by Vickie Baker, Technology Integration Specialist.
The children and their parents were reunited to start working on their scrapbooks. Pictures have been taken at each Saturday event. At the end of the Saturday Fun and Learning Days parents could have eight pictures along with pictures of their trip to the zoo in May.
Afterward everyone enjoyed lunch catered by the Middle School Boosters.
There were approximately 130 people in attendance on Saturday with the following parents winning door prizes - $20 Wal-Mart gift cards from Heads Up Kathy Barr, Shelvia Jones, April Petrovsky, and Donna Schoolcraft; GEAR UP Bucket - Betty Wilson; and a DVD Player donated by Heads Up was won by Roberta Hall.

Janet Davis, who is a member of the Heads Up Advisory Council, and Loretta Siers and Teri Thompson who are members of the Sunny Cal Gal Red Hatters volunteered on Saturday to assist with the Saturday Fun and Learning Day along with fellow volunteer Cindy Simers who takes pictures for each of the events.
