Throughout the past week, Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Inc. has begun the process of replacing their old windows. The new Simonton brand windows are solid vinyl framed with high performance low-E glass, which will help in reducing energy cost.
Tony Sellers, of Sellers and Associates, reported there were 74 openings equaling 140 windows being replaced. They also framed up new windows and added vinyl siding to the gift shop at the front entrance.
The replacement of the existing windows is the first step in a facility over-haul that will include replacing the heating and air-conditioning unit and repaving parking lots. Larry Springston, maintenance employee at MHHCC, reported the new windows have already made a difference in relation to the heating of the facility. Some of the old windows dated back to the 1960's and the seals were no longer effective.
This is the second big project for Sellers and Associates in Grantsville in the past few months. In June, the company replaced the windows at the Calhoun County Courthouse. If you would like to contact Mr. Sellers, please call 483-7910.
