BOB GRAHAM'S 'GOOD LIFE' ENDS IN PRISON |
(01/06/2007) |
While most directors of senior centers in WV make a reasonable wage, former Wyoming County Council on Aging Executive Director Bob Graham was making $457,000, plus other perks. Now, Graham has been sentenced to two years in federal prison. Living high-on-the-hog, Graham was allegedly a frequent visitor to local strip clubs, drove nice cars, took expensive trips and enjoyed taxpayer paid hot tubs. Graham was convicted on one count of illegally obtaining more than $30,000 in sick leave. A judge ordered Graham to self-report to federal prison on Feb. 5. He'll be on supervised release for three years after his 24-month term. He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine. Graham had 39 criminal counts but was acquitted on all but one. The state of West Virginia has a pending civil case against Graham. The Attorney General's Office wants Graham to return $300,000 to the Council on Aging's retirement fund.
