| Garold Randell "Gary" Nichols, 49, of Left Hand, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Gary was born February 27, 1957 at Left Hand, a son of Mary Rosalea Potts Nichols of Newton and the late Doy William Nichols.
He was a skidder and dozer operator, landscaper and timber cutter. He was a welder for Little Hawk Welding Company, Amma. Gary was also a Baptist.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Summers Nichols of Left Hand; one son, Doy Thomas Nichols of Ripley; two stepsons, William and Lane Steele both of Walton; five stepdaughters, Terri Lynn Lupardus of Gandeeville, Cindy Eubank and Iris Gibler both of Illinois, Laura Walls of Clio and Susan Evans of South Charleston; one brother, Donnie William Nichols of Newton; 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Kenneth E. Truman officiating. Burial will be in the Nichols Family Cemetery, Newton.
