CO-PRINCIPALS WILL ADMINISTER BOTH CM/HS - Cut Back Eliminates One Administrator

A significant change in the administrative operation of Calhoun Middle/High School was approved last night by the Calhoun Board of Education. There will be co-principals over both the middle and high school, with a third assistant principal being approved. The change eliminates one administrator, the principal of Calhoun Middle School, a slot which had been filled by Jane Lynch.

Michael Offutt, is the Principal of Instruction and Roger Propst is the Principal of Administration over both the middle and high schools. The new Assistant Principal over both schools is Emilio Garza, who will be coming from Logan County schools. He has been the Director of Jr. ROTC in Logan County.

Bryan Sterns, who has held the position of Attendance Director and has worked with special education students, will have additional administrative duties as Dean of Students for both schools. He will assume the duties without additional pay.

Larry Baker, Instructional Technology Coordinator at CM/HS has resigned to accept the position of Assistant Vice President for Technology at Glenville State College. He is being replaced by Jeffery Burns.

Daniel and Cheryl Fiedorczyk have resigned from the system to accept employment in South Carolina.

The Board voted to rescind the Reduction in Force lay-offs of Stephanie Crihfield Whiting and Calvin Nicholas.

They also voted to employ the following individuals:

Mary Bower, temporary Secretary III at CM/HS

Daniel Beall, Band Director

Chris Fox, apprentice band assistant through "Lights On"

Deborah Hartshorn, Academic Tutor Coordinator

Fred Waybright, Custodian III, four days a week, Arnoldsburg School

Pat Haught, Majorette Coach through "Lights On"

Donald Poage, ninth grade Boy's Basketball Coach

Cheryl McCallister, Site Coordinator "Lights On" at Calhoun-Gilmer Career

Tim Davis, Head Varsity Boy's Basketball Coach

Melinda Fitzwater, Cross Country Coach

Three individuals were hired as Computer Assistants at three schools

Substitute teachers and substitute service personnel were also hired, the list to be published later.
