The Calhoun-Gilmer Chronic Disease Treatment and Prevention Coalition (CDTPC) needs your help.

The CDTPC was founded by Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center in 2004 to address local effects of chronic diseases.

In the past two years, the CDTPC has received a variety of grants to provide community education in diabetes, heart disease, colon cancer, breast cancer and others.

Currently, the CDTPC is comprised of a variety of professionals from Calhoun and Gilmer counties.

The CDTPC would like to increase our membership to include community members, faith based organizations and other community organizations who are interested in improving the quality of life for our citizens.

An informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 11 a.m. The meeting will be in the Conference Room at Gilmer Primary Care, a division of MHHCC. Light refreshments will be provided.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the CDTPC, please contact Barb McKown at 354-9244. If you are interested in joining but are unable to attend the meeting, the next regular meeting will be on January 18, 2007 at 10 a.m. at MHHCC.
