Carless Coy Hays, 70, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away November 20, 2006 at Charleston General Hospital.
Born at Left Hand, Roane County he was a son of the late Issach and Mildred Snodgrass Hays. He was retired from Standard Lafarge Company of Cleveland, Ohio, was a US Army veteran and was a member of the Moose Club in Northfield, Ohio and the VFW of Grantsville.
Surviving are his wife LaVonne Hays; four daughters, Carla Gier of FL, Ann Self of Arnoldsburg, WV, Tina Kissel and Tammy Bowen both of Kenova, WV; three step-daughters, Linda Hartman of Garrettsville, OH, Deborah Britton of Gilbert, AR and Jessica Quinn of Aurora, OH; three brothers, Melvin Hays and his wife Marie and Dannie Hays and his wife Judy all of Arnoldsburg, Larry Hays and his wife Margaret of Ravenna, OH; two sisters, Eleanor Smith and her husband Charles and Patty Keough and her husband Jack all of Arnoldsburg.
Grandchildren are Kayla and Kimmy Self of Arnoldsburg, Charity Spencer of Spencer, Adam Stump of Grantsville and Marcus Gier of FL; two great grandchildren, Jacob Spencer and Brady Norman of Spencer; step-grandchildren are Joshua, Elisha, Johnathon and Emily Hartman, Shannon, Samantha and Sarah Sherman, Madeline Britton, Eric and Zachery Quinn.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother William R. Hays and granddaughter Cindy Self.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Rick Metheney will officiate. Interment will be in the Clover Cemetery at Spencer.
