Kenneth Matthew Lambert, 86, of Newton, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at 1:30 p.m., in the CAMC-Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after an extended illness.
He was born January 30, 2006, at Jane Lew, a son of the late Marion E. and Lena Matthews Lambert.
Kenneth was a retired 25 year employee of Betsy Ross Foods and was a member of the Teamster's Union, Local 348, both in Mogadore, OH. He was a decorated Army veteran of World War II. He was awarded five medals, including the Silver Star. He served under the command Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower during the Battle of the Bulge. He also fought in other battles at Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes.
Survivors include his wife, June A. Drake Lambert of Newton; son, David Lambert of Akron, OH; stepson, Jeffrey Hall of Copley, OH.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. in the Zion Hill Cemetery, Elana, with Pastor Ed Young officiating. There will be no visitation.
