The incident began at about 1 p.m. at the Family Discount Pharmacy on Route 10 in Stollings, just south of Logan. A man, identified as Jeff Harvey, entered the store waving and firing a shotgun, yelling for people to get out.
All but four workers and two male customers were able to leave the store. Harvey said he wanted pills and then he wanted to die, and started taking a combination of Xanax and Lortab.

As the hostages were running out of the store, the police stormed the pharmacy and the suspect ran into an upstairs office where some sort of altercation occurred before he was subdued and taken away in an ambulance.
