DR. KARL SNIDER DIES IN PARKERSBURG - Son Of Former Calhoun Resident

The son of a former Calhoun resident William Snider, has died. Dr. Karl A. Snider, D.O., 40, of Mineral Wells died Aug. 4, 2001, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 20, 1960, in Parkersburg, a son of William and Eva Taylor Snider of Walker, WV He is the grandson of the late Ike and Mildred Eagle Snider of the Freed-Leading Creek section of Calhoun.

He was presently employed as vice chief of staff of Selby General Hospital, Marietta, Ohio, where he was director of medical education. He also served as medical director for the Washington County EMS and was regional medical director for the West Virginia EMS.

He was a former enlisted medic with the H&H Company 1092 of the Army National Guard, Engineer Battalion, where he received a commission in 1983, served as platoon leader and battalion surgeon, and was a major in the interactive United States Army Reserves. He was a 1979 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a graduate of Marshall University and a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Donna Tupes Snider; one daughter, Kristina A. Snider, and one son, Erik W. Snider, both of the home; two brothers, William H. Snider II of Parkersburg and Daniel S. Snider of Walker; and two sisters, Barbara A. Snider of Boca Raton, Florida., and Berma J. Galloway of Walker.

Services were held Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church, Lake Washington Road, Pastor Randy Kochersperger officiating. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg.
