Furr-y Friends fundraiser to help with animal over-population

Calhoun's Furr-y Friends, a volunteer, non-profit group that helps residents with spay and neutering fees, held a fund raiser at Grantsville's Senior Center this past weekend.

"It was quite a dinner," said Janet Richards, and "We gave away some really great raffle prizes."

"We continue to need financial support for the project," said Richards, with the number of applications limited each month.

The organization assists low income people with spay or neutering fees, trying to help with the unwanted animal population.

So far, the group has helped with over 100 animals.

The group is now raffling a DVD player and a doll. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will be April 22, 2007.

For more information, to help with the project, or to purchase raffle tickets call Janet Richards 354-9196, Sandra Montgomery 354-6960, or Hilda Hume at 354-9549.
