Mary V. Wolverton, 88, of Big Bend, West Virginia, died Friday, October 13, 2006 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center following a long illness.
Born at Annamoriah, WV on August 21, 1918, she was a daughter of the late George and Sally Wright Basnett.
She was a lifelong resident and homemaker of Calhoun County. She was a member of the Brooksville Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Center of Grantsville.
She is survived by two sons, Cecil D. Wolverton of Walker, WV and Harold R. (Dusty) Wolverton of Big Bend; three grandsons, Kevin, Matthew and Lee and one granddaughter, Melinda; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Basnett of Parkersburg, WV, and Murell Basnett of Annamoriah; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil R. Wolverton and one son Robert E. Wolverton; six brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 15 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. C.W. McDonald will officiate. Interment will be in Hunt Cemetery, Norman Ridge.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hunt Cemetery Fund, Rt. 1 Box 139, Big Bend, WV 26136. |
