Edward "Eggie" Evans, 94, of Spencer, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006, in Eldercare of West Virginia, Ripley, after an extended illness.
He was born December 6, 1911, in Bonnyville, FL, a son of the late Eli and Pearl Ide Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia C. Melton Evans in 2002; three brothers, Ray, Orville and Clayton Evans; four sisters, Fannie Peters, Lillian Stanley, Devota Hays Jarrett and Virginia Kantack.
"Eggie" was a retired foreman for Union Carbide, Alloy, WV. He was a farmer and stockman.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Pat Evans of Spencer; two granddaughters, Sherrie Tyree of Spencer and Shawnie Evans of Keota, OK; two great grandchildren, Barbee Smith of Culloden and Ethan Tyree of Spencer; two great-great grandchildren, Kaylee Smith and Adriana Smith.
Service and burial will be private. There will be no visitation.
