Craig Gherke, a 28-year-native of the county, is one of Calhoun's newest deputy sheriffs.

In addition to himself, Sheriff Carl Ballengee now has a staff of four serving the county.

Gherke is a two-hatter, also serving as fire chief of the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department. He has served the community for the past 10 years as a volunteer fireman and six years as an EMT for Calhoun EMS.
