Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito has secured $1.6 million in
the Department of Defense funding bill, approved this week by the U.S.
House, to provide for high tech jobs in Braxton County.
The money will be
used to provide 25 jobs at Triune Software for work at the new Braxton
County Technology Building in Flatwoods.
The $1.6 million will be used on the EXODUS project, a high tech software
system that will allow the Air Force to retain critical information as they
experience a high turnover in their civilian workforce.
Nearly 40 percent
of Air Force civilian workers will be eligible to retire over the next five
years, making it important that information be stored and efficiently shared
between multiple bases so that knowledge is not lost.
Congresswoman Capito has previously worked to secure funding from the Economic
Development Administration to construct the tech building in Braxton.
