Edith O. Fluharty, 89, of Harrisville, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, in Pullman, W.Va., at her caregiver's residence.
She was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Big Bend, W.Va., the daughter of the late Henderson and Bertha Metz Richards. Edith was a member of the Harrisville Baptist Church and June Rebekah Lodge 56, Smithville.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Annabelle (Ann) and Ron Mayhew of Mineral Wells and Sharon Sue (Suzi) and Dave Moore of Parkersburg; one son, Randall Lee Fluharty of Smithville; nine grandchildren, Robert Mayhew, Elizabeth Reeder, Eric Stanley, Debbie Andrick, Terry Fluharty, Danny Fluharty, Randy Fluharty, Daringer Fluharty and Jasmine Fluharty; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fluharty was preceded in death by her husband, Durl Fluharty; one son, Gayford (Sonny) Fluharty; and one grandson, Gary Fluharty.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Pastor Robert Perine officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
