| Bessie E. "Liz" Bennett, 77, of Parkersburg died Sept. 14, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 7, 1929, in Grantsville, W.Va. She was a daughter of the late Gerald Graham and Garnet Clark Graham.
She was Christian by faith and retired from Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital where she was a cook.
She is survived by five children, Ward "Buck" Bennett of Parkersburg, Hope Lanning of Princeton, W.Va., Vera Bennett of Parkersburg, Billy Bennett of Princeton, W.Va., and Sandy Hendricks of Princeton, W.Va.; four brothers and sisters, Naomi Schoonover of Granville, Ohio, Billy Graham of Chillicothe, Ohio, Wanda Vining of Rutland, Ohio, and Jimmy Graham of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, April Newhouse, Christopher Bennett, Sabrina Bennett, Christy Jack, Robin Bennett, Cindi Lanning and Brian Lanning; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Bennett; a daughter, Judy Doherty; stepmother, Goldie Graham; two daughter-in-laws, Mary Bennett and Debra Bennett; a sister-in-law, Susie Graham; a grandson, Adam Lanning; and dearest friend, David J. Morris.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. L. Norman Butler officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. |
