Every Calhoun runner but one posted a season best time in the loaded Chick-Fil-A meet Saturday at Mineral Wells.
The Calhoun girls team, still racing one runner short due to injury to one runner and another not having the mandatory 14 practice sessions in, was led by Anna Sampson with a personal best time of 24:41 good for 52nd place.
Maria Kisner was second with a personal best of 27:59 for 75th place. Following her were Carrie Graffius, who had a personal best of 30:27 and 89th place, and Emily Brady, who finished in 30:53 for 84th place.
Had the Red Devils had a full squad they would have been 11th.
On the boys side David Lee had a personal best time of 23:00 for 109th place while Zac Stump came in at 37:31, a personal best, for 119th.
Middle school runner Steven Keaffaber, running in his first meet of the season, had a time of 12:28 for 50th place while Luke Moore had a personal best of 18:10 for 121st place.
Calhoun will return to action September 26th in the Gilmer Invitational at Cedar Creek State Park. The team should be at full strength by then.
