Gary Kevin Dobbins, age 38, of Cedarville was found dead in a wooded
area about a mile his home in Cedarville.
He was last seen in the area about a week earlier.
His body was discovered by family members Sunday afternoon about 2:30
p.m., just one day after he was reported missing.
Apparently Dobbins was known to leave for several days at a time and
initially no one thought much about his absence.
"I was told it wasn't unusual for him to leave for several days and then
come back," Metz said.
There were no apparent signs of foul play. The local medical examiner
was called to the scene.
Inaccurate or unsubstantiated rumors about the cause of death have been
spreading around the county, the sheriff said.
"The body looked like it had been there for some time," Metz said.
Dobbins' body was sent to the State Medical Examiner where an autopsy
will be performed.
It may be next week before those results are available.

BODY FOUND IN CLAY
Authorities have yet to release a statement regarding a body that was reportedly discovered yesterday in Widen.
Widen is an abandoned coal mining town about 45 minutes from the Town of Clay.
Police were on the scene investigating the matter most of yesterday, according to local sources.
Speculation was afloat regarding two missing females, Jennifer Sears Belt, who has been missing for about two years, and Christian Dawn Starcher Seabolt from Spencer, whose disappearance has been linked to drug traffickers in Roane County.
