Calhoun Youth Football A & C Teams traveled to Ravenswood on Saturday, September 9.
Calhoun C Team were the first to take the field. On the first play of the
game Cole Ritchie took the pitch and motored 60 yards for the touchdown.
Lucas Wilson added the 2-point conversion to make the score 8-0. On
Ravenswood's second play Ethyn Miller "took" the ball out of the opponents
hands and ran 40 yards for the second TD with Cole Ritchie adding the
2-point conversion. Calhoun led 16-0.

Ritchie took the pitch, running around the right end, running 32 yards for
the third touchdown. Ethyn Miller scored the 2-point conversion on a
bootleg.

The second quarter was a defensive battle with the opposing Red Devils.
Cole Ritchie did break away with a TD run that was called back.
The Red Devil C Team returned after half time only to battle to score twice
and have them overturned on penalties. The C Team defense remained tight,
not allowing the opposing Devils past our 30-yard line. It has been quite a
few years since any Calhoun Youth Football defense has shut out any opposing
team.
The game was very exciting for fans and players being the first C
Team win in recent years. Congratulations, Calhoun C Team!
The A Team lost to Ravenswood, the final score was Calhoun 12 - Ravenswood 42.
