Big Springs resident Ralph Cunningham took his job problem by the horns and started his own gas measurement business ten years ago, after a 17-year hitch with Consolidated Gas.
Little Kanawha Gas Measurement, his fledgling business, has grown from being operated in his house and garage to a new location on Rt. 5, near the Grantsville town limits.
"It got so crowded at the house, we had to go outside to change our mind," he said.
The new location has lots of space to perform a number of services provided to the regions oil and gas industry, including meter testing and repair and building and setting pre-fab rotary sets.
"We provide a lot of professional services, and make sure they're done really well," said Cunningham, who has expanded the operation throughout central West Virginia.
"Like all good operations, it's been a lot of work, but it has really paid-off, and we're both grateful and proud," he concluded.
