ORMA MEN INDICTED ON POT CHARGES - Grand Jury Indicts Six

A Calhoun Grand Jury has indicted six individuals, the indictments were presented before Circuit Judge Thomas C. Evans, III today.

The Grand Jury has indicted two Orma men related to the manufacturing of a controlled substance, identified as marijuana.

Dennis Sears, 25, and Cecil Pomeroy, 59, were indicted on manufacturing and conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance, but Sears was indicted with an additional count of intent to deliver.

Cpl. J.E. Skidmore of Glenville detachment said the plants were near the Gilmer-Calhoun line in Calhoun, with 100 reportedly confiscated.

Other indictments:

- Travis Wayne Sampson, 19, of Chloe, one count of breaking and entering, one count of petit larceny, one count of conspiracy to commit breaking and entering

- Dennis L. Cottrill, 23, of Frametown, two counts of sexual assault in the third degree

- Greg Springston, 26, of Spencer, one count of voluntary manslaughter, one count of DUI alcohol/controlled substance resulting in death (See additional Herald story)

- Billy Ray Hardway, 45, of Millstone, possession of a firearm by a felon (See earlier Herald story)
