Charles David "Chub" Carpenter, Sr., 65, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Monday, September 4, 2006, in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was born May 18, 1941, in McConnelsville, OH, a son of the late Commodore Dewey and Goldie Mae Clowser Carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Carpenter; three brothers, Junior, Edgar and Bob Carpenter; one sister, Margaret Callow.
"Chub" was a Christian, a retired employee of the Spencer Hospital and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Carpenter of Spencer two sons, Charles David Carpenter, Jr. and Craig Daniel Carpenter both of Spencer; one daughter, Teresa L. Boggs of Spencer; one sister, Macel Sue Sommerville of Spencer; three grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jack H. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Ward Cemetery, Spencer.
