The US Postal Service came out with
new quilt stamps on August 25th honoring America's quilting tradition.
Keeping up with tradition in Calhoun County, on September 5th
through September 25th the Mt. Zion Post Office is having a
quilter's celebration.
Anyone wishing to display a quilt (whether hand
quilted by you or a loved one) can bring it to the post office during those days.
On September 22nd the quilts
will be judged and prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
winners.
Anyone participating will receive a quilt pattern of your
choice. Mt. Zion postmaster Mila Arnold says "Bring out those quilts and come celebrate with us."
